Equipment Operation & Worker Safety
OVERVIEW
State and municipal road workers work in a wide variety of hazardous situations. These workers often operate, or work near, large equipment, such as loaders, graders, dump trucks, asphalt pavers, etc. This class covers general safety issues and best practices for equipment operators and other workers. Some specific topics addressed are the importance of personal protective equipment for different tasks, tips for backing safety, safe work procedures for lifting, and numerous other safety topics.
