This is a recording from 2025 of the WV LTAP's Applying ADA in Work Zones class. The entire class should take approximately 1.5 hours to complete. OVERVIEW This class focuses on inspection of curb ramps and identifying unacceptable mistakes so that the construction ramps will meet the needs of all users. The instructor introduces key terms and discuss the necessary measuring tools. The types of sidewalk-to-street transitions and basic requirements for reach in terms of widths, cross slopes, landings, grades, flares and how to measure each will be presented. Requirements for detectable warning surfaces will also be described. The session concludes with identification and discussion of ‘top ten’ curb ramp mistakes. AUDIENCE This workshop should be of interest to municipal and private sector personnel with responsibility for constructing and inspecting curb ramps and related facilities in the public right-of-way. These include engineers, technicians, inspectors, supervisors, foremen, concrete crew members and contractors.
